Hit me hard and soft

Hi there and welcome back to the sound spectrum😌💫. As promised we're going to dive into Billie's album Hit Me Hard and Soft Album. Personally I feel like when Billie and her brother Finneas write songs they put their heart in it and it feels like an open diary- honest, raw and unforgettable. With HMHAS she pulls us into a world of vulnerability and resilience and she doesn't just tell a story but invites us to feel every emotion along the way.

I am no expert but I ranked the songs according to how they made me feel and how I liked them most.

1. WILDFLOWER 

Its my current favorite song and it makes me think of someone who dated a friend's ex. She is putting herself in the position of the girl and how she might have felt about it. She consoled the girl after the breakup and then dated that guy and in as much as she is with that girl she is questioning herself on her girl code. Its a really nice song when you wanna be in your feels n whatever....then again I listen to the same songs whether I'm happy, sad, excited, bored, in fear or even surprised😂. Its honestly my number one go to song.

2. THE GREATEST

It is also another favorite that was really fighting for the number one spot but it had to be one. According to me I feel like the song goes through the feelings of anger, loneliness and mourning for what something could have been. I feel like its about wanting for people to want you as you are and since they don't, you try make them to through different things you do so that they at least aknowledge you... and lets be honest, its not people its actually a particular person that makes you do very  questionable things. And I know at one point you may have been in such a situation and that's what I really like about Billie's song because you can always relate to them.

3. L'AMOUR DE MA VIE

This banger makes me feel like the times you were trying to hard with someone then finally you're like I don't get paid enough for this... and tell the guy adios and the funny thing is he begs to stay and when you put your foot down he jumps into another relationship immediately. But you're ok with it coz yk how it'll end anyway😂😂( premium tears).

4. BIRDS OF A FEATHER

I love this song coz it gives me bestie ride or die vibes. It shows the appreciation of platonic relationships. Sometimes I feel like they're actually stronger than romantic ones and they kinda sorta keep you sane. In an interview Billie said the song is kinda like love bombing and whatever reason she wrote it for its really about how you understand it and I really like the ambiguity in her music.

5. CHIHIRO

So according to google the word Chihiro is Japanese for a thousand questions, wise questions, excellent, gentle, generous. The song clearly has a lot of questions in it and I think she is like trying to help someone who's running away from it and no matter how much you wanna run away from something its going to get you and that can clearly be seen in the music video that Billie  directed herself. Personally it just sounds really nice and is clearly a vibe.😁

I've done the top five for now and stay in tune for the rest of this awesome album's reviews. Ranking HMHAS is not easy as there are songs that depict heart-wrenching vulnerability like wildflower to the perfect representation of a toxic relationship in Chihiro. 

But while my rankings reflect my personal connection to her music, everyone experiences songs differently and that's what makes music special
